8 COMMON SENSE WAYS TO CONSERVE WATER

CA Gov Jerry Brown has called for a voluntary 20% cutback in water usage as the state faces the worst drought in 100 years. Here are 8 ways you can help.

  1. Install low flush toilets, low flow showerheads, water saving appliances.
  2. Repair leaky faucets, toilets and outdoor irrigation systems promptly.
  3. Limit showers to five minutes.
  4. Don’t run water. Wet, lather, turn the water off and on again to rinse when washing hands/hair, brushing teeth or shaving.
  5. Use the washer and dishwasher for full loads only. Wash dark colors in cold water to save energy and color fastness.
  6. Rinse veggies and fruits in a stopped sink, not running water.
  7. Use the disposal sparingly. Compost instead.
  8. Plant drought resistant foliage. Click on our blog about drought resistant plants

Every gallon counts. Thanks for your cooperation in CA’s time of need.
